The Marriage Foundations Classes

We will be learning together through three separate teachings on marriage. We are calling these teachings our Marriage Foundations classes, and they will be required material for anyone seeking marriage at Real Hope Fellowship.

These courses are valid and valuable for anyone at any stage of life. The truths presented thoughout these courses will be beneficial to those who are married or single, as well as to the widowed or divorced. The teachers are addressing the subject of marriage, but, in large part, truths presented here can apply to any relationship.

We encourage you to listen with an open mind and to ask God to show you what He wants to teach you from these lessons.

These teachings are distinct and from different sources, but taken in the order we shall be sharing them, they harmonize well and build upon one another.

It is important to take the material in the order presented,
to reflect upon it before moving on to the next part,
and to be willing to review the material often.

The material starts in Marriage Foundations I by challenging our preconceived ideas of marriage and replacing them with the truths that God has revealed about marriage.

The material in our Marriage Foundations II class builds upon the teaching from the first class, and makes us look honestly at ourselves, our spouses (or intendeds), and our Holy, merciful, and loving God. It is in this class that we begin to take the theological truths in the first class and apply them to our day to day interactions with our spouses.

Marriage Foundations III will build upon both of the previous classes by focusing on practical things that can be done to improve your understanding of your spouse and thereby improve your relationship. This third class is where the rubber meets the road and the teaching in this class is specific, concrete, and practical for everyone regardless of what stage they happen to be at in their marriage.

The following files are meant to supplement our current teaching on marriage. These messages will be on our site for a limited time only. We hope they will help you to understand God's intention for marriage and provide you with a Biblical basis for understanding marriage.

Marriage Foundations I

Marriage Foundations I challenges our preconceived ideas of marriage, and teaches us what God has revealed about His design for marriage.

Marriage Foundations II

Marriage Foundations II calls us to take an honest look at ourselves, our spouses, and our God. This class brings the power of the Gospel to bear on our marriages by immersing us in the mercy that Christ lavished on us at Calvary.

This phenomenal teaching is crucial for all Christians in understanding how the Gospel of Jesus Christ applies to all earthly relationships and specifically to marriage.

The teaching in this class is best understood only after completing Marriage Foundations I.
